PM Modi’s session with farmers is a part of the ruling BJP’s nationwide outreach to the farmers on December 25, former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birthday, reported Hindustan Times.

“Tomorrow’s day (Friday) is very important for the country’s Annadatas. Will get the opportunity to release the next installment of PM-Kisan for more than 9 crores farmer families through video conferencing at 12 pm. Will also interact with farmers of many states on this occasion,” Modi tweeted on Thursday.

Under the PM-Kisan scheme, the Centre is also expected to provide ₹18,000 crore to 90 million farmers. This is Narendra Modi government’s initiative to extend income support of ₹6,000 per year to small and marginal farmers. The sum will be disbursed in three equal instalments of ₹2,000 every four months.

BJP general secretary Arun Singh listed the steps, including installation of large-screen televisions at the farmers’ protest site so that the farmers can hear the PM’s speech. This was informed by Singh to all BJP functionaries of the country.
